Sam Morgan


Dr. Sam Morgan served his country honorably for twenty-one years in both the enlisted and officer ranks, retiring as a major.  It was during his time in uniform that he transformed the art of leadership that allowed him to lead men and women in diverse and fluid working environments.  Sam served in such distinguished military units as the 1st Special Forces Group as a Special Forces Engineer (Green Beret) and the 519th Military Intelligence Battalion as a Long Range Surveillance Company Platoon Leader, Assistant Operations Officer, and Executive Officer.


He successfully graduated from some of the Army’s most rigorous and demanding leadership schools: Ranger School, Special Forces Assessment and Selection, Special Forces Qualification Course, Jumpmaster Course, Officer Basic Course, Infantry Captains Career Course, Combined Arms and Services Staff School, and the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center.

Sam's passion for education continued as a civilian when he became the Director of Webster University’s Fort Bliss Graduate Campus and an Adjunct Professor.  He taught organizational behavior, management and strategy, managerial and organizational leadership, and integrated studies in management.  Webster University offers unique graduate degree opportunities to the El Paso and Fort Bliss communities.  As a university director, Dr. Morgan was responsible for ensuring students received a high quality learning experience that helped them transform into global citizens while they strived for individual excellence.  While under Dr. Morgan’s leadership, the Fort Bliss Webster University campus grew to become one of the university’s largest military campuses and became the most profitable satellite campus for the institution as a whole.  Sam is also the founder of El Paso Concealed Carry, a company that empowers and educates private citizens in the fundamentals of firearm safety and training, Texas License to Carry Laws and Statues, Self-Protection and Use of Force.  Sam has also served in the capacity of a Special Investigator for United States Information Agency (USIS) Investigative Service Division.  The nation’s leader in Security screening services for federal, state, and local government agencies and major U.S. Corporations.

He has received notable recognition for his commitment to community including the 2013 “Extraordinary Minority in Business” Award from the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA), 2013 “Salute Award” for outstanding service in the community from Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., the 2012 &2013 “Founder’s Day” Award for selfless community service from Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., and the 2005“Outstanding MPA Faculty Contribution Award” for selfless contribution to the promotion of UTEP’s Leadership Studies Program and its Students.


Collectively, Sam obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Management, Master of Arts degree in Management, and a Doctorate in Business Administration.


Presently, Sam is a member and/or holds elected positions in numerous social, civic and political organizations within the El Paso community.  He is the President of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., Sigma Tau Chapter, 501c (3) nonprofit, an Executive Committee Member with the El Paso Chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), 1st Vice President for the National Pan-Hellenic Council, Inc. (NPHC), El Paso Chapter, Precinct Chair.  Sam is a member of local and national veteran organizations: Special Forces Association Chapter IX (Isaac Camacho Chapter), Benavidez-Patterson "All Airborne" Chapter, 82nd Airborne Division Association, Inc., American G.I. Forum, Greater El Paso Chapter, Veterans of Foreign Wars (Post 812), Veteran at Breakfast, and the Military Order of the World Wars, El Paso Chapter.
